We send marketing email only to people who ticked the optional “send me news” box. Every marketing email says it's from Ai Book Sort, includes our mailing address, and has a one-click unsubscribe link that works right away. We follow Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and the US CAN-SPAM Act.
Service emails vs marketing emails
Service (transactional) emails are part of the service you signed up for and don't need marketing consent: email verification, sign-in and security notices, receipts and refunds, and job alerts (job received, results ready, items flagged for you to confirm, results delivered) and replies to your questions. They contain no advertising.
Marketing emails (news, tips, offers, launch announcements) are sent only with your consent.
How we get consent (CASL)
- Express consent: a separate, unticked, optional checkbox at sign-up or in Email & data preferences. It's never pre-ticked or bundled with the terms of service.
- The request names Ai Book Sort, explains what we'll send, and says you can unsubscribe at any time.
- Records (INTERIM until waitlist consent backend is verified live): when the live form is active we keep the date and time, a hashed IP address, where you agreed, and the exact wording version you saw, and we also record every unsubscribe. Until then, do not treat a support inquiry or mailto as promotional consent.
- Implied consent: CASL allows some messages based on an existing business relationship (for example, within 2 years of a purchase, or 6 months after an inquiry). Our policy is to rely on express consent only.
What every marketing email contains (CASL + CAN-SPAM)
- Accurate “From”, “Reply-To” and routing information identifying Ai Book Sort, and no misleading subject lines.
- A clear statement that it's a promotional message.
- Our name (Bukso Technologies Corp., operating as Ai Book Sort) and our mailing address: PO Box 95072, RPO Saddleridge, Calgary, AB T3J 0E3, Canada, plus a contact email.
- A working unsubscribe link (and a one-click unsubscribe header for mail apps), free of charge and without asking you to sign in.
Unsubscribing
Click “Unsubscribe” in any marketing email, change it in Email & data preferences, or email support@aibooksort.com with “Unsubscribe”. The link takes effect immediately. Email requests are processed within 10 business days, the maximum both CASL and CAN-SPAM allow. We never sell or share email lists. Unsubscribing from marketing doesn't stop service emails about your own jobs.
Others sending for us
If we ever use an email provider or partner for marketing, they must follow this policy. We remain responsible for messages sent on our behalf.
Complaints
Contact us first. In Canada you can also report spam to the Spam Reporting Centre (fightspam.gc.ca). In the US you can contact the Federal Trade Commission.
